Who we are
Shahida Education & Welfare is a charitable organisation applying to register as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the Charity Commission for England & Wales. Until a charity number is issued, the data controller is Aa'la Ahsan Rajput, acting on behalf of the charity. Contact: info@shahida.org.uk.
What personal data we collect
This website does not store any data on its own servers. All forms on this site — contact, pledge of interest, and newsletter sign-up — work by opening your email application with a pre-addressed message. The information you type is sent by your own email client directly to us. Nothing is captured by the website itself.
As a result, the personal data we hold is limited to: email correspondence (your name, email address and anything you include in your message), and our email list (if you ask to be kept updated, we add your name and email to a manually maintained list — only if you've explicitly asked). We do not use server-side forms, website analytics, or cookies.
Why we hold it and our lawful basis
Responding to enquiries — we use your name and email to reply. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
Our email update list — we hold your details to keep you informed. Lawful basis: consent. You can withdraw any time by emailing info@shahida.org.uk.
Trustee and volunteer enquiries — we hold your details to progress the conversation. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. We won't retain them beyond the process.
How long we keep it
General enquiries are kept until the matter is resolved, then deleted. The email list is held until you unsubscribe. Trustee and volunteer enquiries are held only for the duration of the selection process.
Who we share it with
No one. We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or any other purpose, and we do not use third-party email marketing platforms at this stage.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies. We do not use analytics tools, advertising trackers, or any scripts that monitor your behaviour on the site. Your visit is not tracked.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access your data, correct inaccuracies, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email info@shahida.org.uk. We'll respond within one calendar month.
The right to complain
You can raise a concern with the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd always prefer to resolve any concern directly — please contact us first if you can.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when our practices change — for example, when we begin accepting donations or start using an email platform. The date above reflects any revision, and material changes will be noted on our News page.
